After checking out the Top 10 drummers thead, is there a simpler more easy going drummer than Bun E Carlos of Cheap Trick? You have to check out that tie and simple azz drum set that looks like a garage set. I mean, compared to Neil Perts setup,,Realllly. But he comes through on every song w/ that perfect match to the band. And He isn't touring this year ???

I'll post the most famous drummer of the 60's,,,okay One of the most famous also known for a minimal kit, Ringo Starr the metronome of the Beatles.:D

I saw a band in a nightclub here decades ago..."Les Pucks" and the drummer had two cymbals, a snare and a bass drum and that was it. Smallest kit I ever saw but that 3 piece band really cooked and I was amazed at how much the drummer could do with so little.

Simple drummers are far and away my favorites. First people who come to mind are of course Ralph Molina from Crazy Horse, and also Varg Vikernes from Burzum.

^^I don't rate a drummer by the...size of their kit AAG...:heheh:

Some need all the various bits and pieces depending on what kind of music they are playing to stay true to the studio recordings like Neil Peart, others can get away with much less it depends on the material as much as anything else.

Oh and I looked but couldn't find a picture of Molina's kit anywhere...:dunno:

Neil Peart uses all the stuff he has on stage every night and quite well if I may say so. Now, the smallest kit I've seen was Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats. Bass drum, snare and a ride cymbal.
