'On June 12th 2009, my friend and band mate, Shy guitarist Steve Harris was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme which is more commonly referred to as GBM and the most aggressive form of brain cancer, he was given three weeks to live.

On Monday 19th September 2011, the final Shy album, simply titled Shy was released...Steve was still with us! Through sheer will and monumental strength of character, Steve survived to hold the record that he had devoted two years of his life to in his hands.

Although by now Steve was in a coma, we still believe he could hear us and close friends joined devoted wife Deb to be with him during his final hours. We read and re-read the fabulous album reviews to him, Steve finally receiving the acknowledgment his virtuoso guitar playing had deserved for many years. He finally passed away peacefully, on October 28th 2011, almost two and a half years after his original diagnosis.

Further tragedy was to hit the band just a week before a tribute event in memory of Steve was due to take place. Keyboard player Joe Basketts mom also sadly passed away due to cancer. Like Steve, she had bravely fought the disease for many years.

The remaining members of Shy, past and present are now able to announce the re-scheduled tribute to the man and his music will be on Fri July 19th 2013. As before all profits will be donated to Brain Tumour UK.' – Roy Davis, Bass
