Shoutbox?

I was wondering if you can install a shoutbox plugin. Something like this:

One advantage I see is we can talk live about anything.
One disadvantage I see is interest on certain amount of threads may decrease.

What's your thought?

Sorry dude, biggest thing to ruin a forum IMO!

In experience, it takes the attention away from the forum. I don't mind it too much when the forum is dead, but this forum seems pretty active a lot, and i'd hate for something to take the attention away from it.

Besides there are PM's, profile messaging, AIM, Yahoo, Skype all kinds of other instant messaging alternatives to a shoutbox, which is also a drain on the server. We had experience with it before and it detracts from what we are here to do, which is talk music in the forum.

I do appreciate the interest Nololob has taken in the forum though.
