I've alays been a big fan of the usual 60's and '70's three or four minute pop and rock tunes and was wondering if there were any significant classical pieces that instead of being the usual long work of classical were actually only a few minutes in length...............

^^There are quite a few out there HGH, minuets, etudes, suites, overtures. Rossini's overtures is great fun they aren't that long either maybe check them out.

And I love Rimsky-Korsakov's suites, but some of them might exceed your time constraints.

In baroque music, any piece with a dance title will often be fairly short so as not to tire the imagined dancers; Menuet, Sarabande, Bourée, Gigue, Courante, Allemande, Gavotte, Double etc.
