A few that I like and might not be considered cool...
The Carpenters ( up through the mid-70's or so)
Jackson 5
Michael Jackson's first two solo albums
Burt Bacharach
I'd defend any of this stuff, but it might be off most people's radar.
Also, when I was a kid ( 8 or 9) I had the first two Partridge Family albums and wore them out...also had a Brady Bunch album.

Culture Club? Man you're brave...I'd be afraid to admit that one.
I think Boy George is cool.........I emulated his clothes, too, in the 80's.
