10. The Lament Of Curt von Schnauzer

Progressive/symphonic metal from Australia with Arabic/Indo traditional instrumentation. Actually a riveting epic eclectic blend of prog and metal styles and a varied layered of vocals from straight ahead male vocals [Muriusz Duda(Riverside), Russell Allen(Symphony X) and even Chris Cornell(Soundgarden) on a couple of tracks come to mind] to female goth to the harsh heavy metal growls and haunting rhythmic background harmonies add to the ambience of a far away mysterious land.

An obvious comparison can be made to Orphaned Land and to a lesser extent, Myrath and the lush, pompous symphonic sound of Therion and also the heavy prog of Riverside. As of late there seems to be a trend, unconventional from the norm, with some young artists fusing many different styles and sounds, Haken and Leprous off the top my head are other examples that cross many different sub-genres being very complexed and extravagant and at times can lead to chaos and confusion.

An excellent debut, no doubt refreshing though at times it gets excessive.

great exploring sounds that across the oceans and builds fantasy of the great culture at the past..the sound's construction from traditional instruments until more decibel at guitar sound frequency
very good for relaxation...
