I personally prefer Geddy's vocals on the early material. I think it was a choice to tone down the edge rather then a physical change that occurred w/ Geddy.

The new release is IMO by far RUSH's best in decades.

I love Power Windows but good god is Mystic Rhythms too bland. The only weak song on the album nevertheless, the rest were decent. Melody is good but too mellow grinds my gears at times.

I kind of like that one. It's not a real Rush song, but...

Maybe it might grow on me in time. Rest of the album had somewhat of a harder edge to it which I liked when mixed with the melodic sections but for some reason Mystic Rhythms felt a bit too overbearing with the 'commercialised' sound. Just me I suppose. lol

There's many folks that don't like that era.....understandable as the first half of their career was pretty epic and heavy!!

But I didn't like Power Windows all that much until later. Love it now and Hold Your Fire takes me into a cool listening experience. It is cool they rolled it back to the heavy though.

I liked the album, just not that last song. Rest of it was a fine CD. :)

Might give them another go at youtube just for the hell of it. It's been years and I do like the new one so ....

Not expecting to change my mind but it's worth a go I guess.
