ROLLING STONES BOX SET COMING SOON
This News Is Brought To You By VH1’s Dave Basner

While a Rolling Stones tour is still questionable, one thing that is certain is that the band will put out a box set later this year. The package features 45 of the group’s 45s, also known as singles, that were originally released between 1971 and 2006. Each single will get its own CD that includes B-sides, live versions and remixes. In total, the set includes 173 tracks plus a 32-page hardback book with photos, essays and an interview with former bassist Bill Wyman. It hits shelves overseas on April 11th but no word yet on when it’s out here in the States.

This reminds me of the reason I wrote my old thread about "Remasters of Remasters of Remasters"...:heheh:

I'll pass on this release, but I did pick up their box set two years ago of albums from Beggars Banquet up to the last studio recording.

This seals the deal...The Rolling Stones will tour for this...

2011 tour...guaranteed.

Stones like to tour in late summer, early fall.

I was hoping for a new album.

Edit: Stones toured to promote ''40 Licks'' a few years back.

Sounds like a great package, although I do wish that they had just come up with something akin to the Singles Collection, which was 3 CDs encompassing all of their singles for the Decca label from 1963 to 1974. I'd imagine that this box set, with so many individual CDs, will be fairly pricey.

^^It's as much about another quick buck as anything else DOC. I tend to agree with you but I suppose the record company feels they have to go all out these days to sell CD's.
