This thread is devoted to those rock/pop songs that were incorporated into other songs by another artist, or "sampling", whether it be a small or large portion of the original song.

For example:

Led Zeppelin ~ Kashmir >>>> Puff Daddy ~ Come With Me (shameful on the part of Pagey :nw:

Stevie Nicks ~ Edge of Seventeen >>>> Destiny's Child ~ Bootylicious :oyea:

Alphaville ~ Forever Young >>>> Jay-Z ~ Young Forever

Can anyone else name any examples? Hopefully this thread won't go over like a lead balloon. :tongue:

Yay, samples thread! :D

UH - Pilgrim (3:16) --> Ken Hensley - Prelude (1:19)

Keith Mansfield - Funky Fanfare --> Arzachel - Queen St. Gang

ELO - Evil Woman --> Pussycat Dolls

ELO - It's Over --> Will.I.Am - Over (Will.I.Am seems to be an ELO fan)

Nazareth - Hair Of The Dog --> Girls Aloud - Sexy No, No, No

Thankfully I do NOT listen to 99.9999% of the pop music that has come out in the past 15+ years, thus I don't hear hardly ANY of this nasty shit!

Speaking of Eminem... dude likes to sample other people's stuff, apparently.

Aerosmith - Dream On --------------------------->>>> Eminem - Sing for the Moment

Queen / David Bowie - Under Pressure --------------->>>>>> Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby

I know that I am in the VAST minority among classic rock fans, but to be perfectly honest, I'd rather listen to Ice Ice Baby than Under Pressure. Queen+Bowie never did anything for me

Apparently Vanilla Ice ripped off the bass line.

When the song first came, out, he didn't give credit to Queen/Bowie in the writing credits. it didn't take long before there was a HUGE thing about it in the news and that issue was then corrected.

Anything that has come out since has the proper credits, but the very early pressings of that song/album did not have the Queen/Bowie credits.
