One I heard and liked a lot was the soundtrack for 'Submarine'. Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys' lead singer) did it and it's quite cool, kinda acoustic-y and stuff.

Marky Mark did amazing in Rock Star, one of my favorite rock movies.
8 Mile with Eminem was pretty impressive too. Okay, so those aren't "rock" stars
but they are damn good films!

I think there are three "H" films worth mentioning:
A Hard Day's Night - starring the Beatles with a soundtrack written by Lennon/McCartney
Help! - starring the Beatles with a soundtrack by Lennon/McCartney (I Need You by George Harrison)
Head - starring the Monkees with a soundtrack by M. Nesmith, P. Tork, Goffen/King and others
And how about Let It Be, the film that won the Beatles their Oscars for Best Original Score.
