I like this live version. My main issue with Motörhead is Lemmy’s vocals, they’re terrible. 7.5/10

Sure, it's very specific (one reporter of Classic Rock magazine even compared Lemmy's voice with "the creaking of old rusty gates"), but personally for me his roar has a real rock drive. :heybaby: :grinthumb

Structurally it's an interesting song with a good main riff, but the vocals are a bit lackluster in my opinion. 7/10.

Lemmy does sound like a creaking, old rusty gate….but Lemmy is a legend and I will never deny him that honor. I just have a hard time listening to his vocals without making weird faces. It is what it is!

Dang, I thought you would like King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard….lol. Definitely an acquired taste in an abrasive style vocals & lyrics. I should have posted “Crumbling Castle”, it’s a bohemoth of a song.

:bl:

Heavenly is new to me. Very Helloween - ish. Lots of guitar shredding. Not bad at all…8/10

I am really curious to hear your take on this…

Very energetic old-school blues-hard-rock with catchy riff. A bit reminds of Cactus and early Ted Nugent works. I've really enjoyed it and added to my playlist. Thanks a lot, Gale. 9/10. :cheers2

Just piping in to say Heavenly's Dust To Dust is one of my all time favorite albums.

@Magic...You mentioned Helloween. I discovered Heavenly many years ago because of their association with Kai Hansen, who plays some on their first album.

Unfortunately, the band basically broke up right after Dust To Dust was released with 3/5 of the band leaving. Vocalist Ben Sotto would release two more albums under the Heavenly banner.

The guitarist on that album is Frederic Leclerq, who would go on to play bass in Dragonforce (and dramatically improve their songwriting), and currently plays guitar in both Kreator and Amahiru.

...ok carry on..

I enjoy these deep, sludgy, fuzzed out, powerful guitars. The drum work is superb. The vocals & lyrics seem to be quite angry, but the vocals are good. 8.5/10

BTW, I have heard of Fu Manchu, since I recently started diving into stoner metal, but not listened to much by them. I think they come across a little too punk for my tastes.

@TACdtf
I am a huge fan of Kai Hansen but had never listened to anything by Heavenly. I will definitely put Dust to Dust on my list of albums to listen to in the near future.

You need to play “rate it” with Hydrazoic & me!

Wow, that Vandor is NICE!!! Never heard of them. Nothing groundbreaking but all class. 9/10

Sounds like a hyped up Mike DiMeo Era Riot track. Speaking of which..

Wow! I haven’t taken the time to listen to Mean Streets yet. This is what, Riot V’s 3rd album?
Fast paced, gut punching, great energy, awesome vocals. 9/10

Before you ask….this is NOT a male/female duet…it’s Yannis!

Powerful and catchy song, and his vocals are so versatile and strong... Great! 10/10.
