I was really saddened by Winter's death. I have been a huge fan since the late 70's. I'll never forget...It must've been around 1986 I decided to count my Johnny Winter records & was shocked when I counted 17! My favorites are Progressive Blues Experiment, Still Alive & Well, & Captured. We caught him last year and he looked awful. It was sad seeing him have to be helped out to his stool at the front of the stage. His vocals sounded really weak but it didn't matter he still put on a great show and he did strap on his Firebird guitar and stood for his final song... Highway 61 Revisited. I wondered how he was able to tour Japan and overseas in his condition. I watched an interview on YouTube from March 2014 shortly after I heard of his passing and in the 10 minute interview he seemed to have a tough time breathing by the end.
