Let's say there's a CD in the store that was printed in like 1993. Now has that exact disc been sitting in its cover since the year 1993, or does the company reprint the same CDs every year, and just keep the same date on the case? because if the CD was really in it's case like 18 years before I buy it, it's pretty damn old.. so what's the answer?

CDs like vinyl have different pressings. Some are years apart while some big selling records can have several in a single year.

It shouldn't really matter, as long as the CD is unopened it should be scratch free.
