Picking Sides is where we pit the vinyl sides of albums (of varying iconicness) against one another and discuss why we like one side over the other and what we think is positive and negative about them.

Such a fantastic album! It's not easy choosing a side, but I had to go with side one because of "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", which is my favourite track on the album.

I think that song could have been a side of it's own! :gig I believe it's listed as one of songs with the longest intros.

As much I love all sides of this album I think I like the last one the best overall. "Social Disease" is a really fun, underrated track, "Roy Rogers" is quite lovely, and I'll always have a soft spot for "Harmony". It's just the freshest and most enjoyable to me. :)

A sensational double album, with no 'filler' on it, and in my view, Elton's best ever. I'm going with side one because of the epic opening - 'Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding'.

side 1 pretty much because of my favorite track off this album: Funeral/Love Lies Bleeding.
