Tom Petty Announces New Live Album Title, Tracklist
by: Joe Robinson Yesterday
Kiss My Amps

TomPetty.com

The complete track listing and cover art have been unveiled for a new vinyl-only album from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers titled ‘Kiss My Amps (Live).’

Due Nov. 25, the (excellently titled) LP will be available exclusively through independent retailers in a limited-edition pressing of 5,000 individually numbered copies.

‘Kiss My Amps’ will have a total of just seven tunes, all of which were featured on ‘Mojo’ and recorded live at amphitheaters and arenas during Petty’s 2010 North American ‘Mojo’ summer trek (with the exception of one tune, which was recorded in 2008 and is the B-side to the ‘Echo’ single, ‘Room At the Top’).

The complete track listing is featured below. Each copy purchased will include a unique code that will allow the buyer to also download the album in a hi-fi digital format for free.

November 25 is Record Store Day’s Black Friday, a day highlighted by the Record Store Day initiative to support independent record stores across the country. Last year’s Black Friday featured exclusive releases from artists including Petty, Bruce Springsteen, U2 and the Doors.

Bravo to Tom for only putting modern songs on this album. That'll make it stand out from his other live albums.

^ No Bravo!

Love Tom Petty, but....

''vinyl-only'' - Not good.

I bet you, after hearing complaints from his fans -- Petty, being the cool dude that he is....Tom will release ‘Kiss My Amps (Live).’ with bonus tracks on CD in the future.

Here's to wishful thinking!

:cheers2

Love TP, but a stupid idea - so I suppose we get the accompanying concert film on BETAMAX or Super 8 mm. And the point exactly of releasing something that only 5,000 people can buy is.....?
