NEW LASER TURNTABLE PLAYS YOUR RECORDS WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THEM

This single invention could mean a comeback for our beloved vinyl collection–as the new ELP Laser Turntable plays records without using a needle!

Remember, as amazing your great record collection was, eventually your greatest “platters” would get scratched, dinged, even the grooves “worn down” after heavy use? Well the ELP Laser Turntable plays all your favorite records without having the need to actually touch the wax!

“The Laser Turntable employs patented technology that produces phenomenal fidelity while never physically touching the record, thus eliminating the deterioration to the album’s surface inflicted by conventional turntables. The laser’s precision allows you to pick up audio information that has never been touched or damaged by a needle. This virgin audio information is then reproduced without digitization maintaining true analog sound as close as possible to when the master tape was recorded. The Laser Turntable even allows you to play records that have been severely warped or damaged over years of wear and tear.” – ELP|

But don’t get too excited too quickly. The price? Just $15,000. Yikes! On second thought, maybe a few scratches on my vinyl isn’t too bad after all.

I know! I'd love to have one, but it looks like I'll have to wait a couple years until the price comes down. ;)

Give it time. The price could drop over a period of time. Vinyl sales continue to soar in comparison to other formats. The first time I saw one of these machines was on a documentary about die hard record collectors. It was a Japanese cat that was dubbing his collection to digital. It was incredible.

ETA: That video @JerseyGirl posted is the one. I love his quote "Now Let's enjoy music!" at the 7 minute mark

This is the movie it is from
