I've known
Nazarteh for a long time only as a band name connected with the two songs -
Love Hurts and
Hair of the Dog. That was the case too when I had a chance to see them live twice in the 90's (1993 and 1998). Well, then I put the band in my list for later consideration.
This happened in 2010's when I've examined in depth their discography. Wow, so many jewels I've found that immediately placed Nazareth in my all time hall of fame.
Aside from their classics of the 70's, I'd like to recommend their superb album "
Boogaloo" (1998).
Here are my top 10:
1. Miss Misery (from Hair of the Dog)
2. Hair of the Dog (from Hair of the Dog)
3. Dream On (from 2XS)
4. Nothing So Good (from Boogaloo)
5. Beggars Day (from Hair of the Dog)
6. Vigilante Man(from Razamanaz)
7. Where Are You Now (from Sound Elixir)
8. Kentucky Fried Blues (from Expect No Mercy)
9. Light Comes Down (from Boogaloo)
10. The Ballad of Hollis Brown (from Loud 'n' Proud)
+
11. Claim to Fame (from No Mean City)
What about this performance? I was speechless when I discovered it several years ago:
