Most disappointing concert you have attended

Bob Dylan, as much as I love his studio work, is one artist I don't think I'd want to see live. Definitely best left on the record player, that one

I'm gonna parrot my previous posts this week a little bit here, but I stumbled across this thread and felt I should put some closure on it

I'm glad B.B. King was on the same tour and convinced me to give Bob a go on Tuesday.

Bob has obviously improved his life show since the late 80's (although his last Adelaide show, in 2005, recieved similar reviews according to people I know that went). He now moves around on stage, and his voice isn't as great as it used to be (as much as his 60's voice could be considered "great") but it was no worse than his singing on his latest album.

In fact, he did this song and nailed it true to the record. As you can see, the vocals are gravelly even in the studio, but it kinda works in a wierd way.



Either he's listened to the fans and lifted his game, or he was having a good night. Definitely heard a lot more disappointing shows

I remember seeing The Confession a few years back when they were opening for In This Moment and Megadeth. Those two bands were great, however...The Confession did not sound good at all. I hadn't really heard much from them prior to seeing the show anyway, so I didn't have very high expectations for them, but...the vocalist could not sing, the guitarist didn't seem like he had a lot of practice, and the band itself just looked like a bunch of 14 year old teenagers trying to catch a break. Idk, maybe if I were to have listened to them more, my opinion would have been different, I don't really have a whole lot of concerts that i've been disappointed with, so that's the best I could do currently.

Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show sucked, as they came on stage nearly too drunk and stoned to stand... much less play. But here's a sample of how much fun they can be.

Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath was doing a highly publicized double bill with Blue Oyster Cult in 1980. I was very much looking forward to seeing both of these fantastic bands, although I had seen Black Sabbath before, this was the first tour with Ronnie James Dio, however the band canceled just a few minutes before the show was to start! No one knew until that was announced at the arena a few minutes before the doors were to open. We decided to stay, since we were already at the arena. Although all of the fans were given the opporunity to get refunds, we chose to see BOC which I was extremely glad that we did, and for many, special and memorable reasons. Anyway, the promoters found a local bar band to open for BOC, but they didn't last long, with the combinations of disgusted, highly intoxicated and mostly unruly fans hurling both verbal threats as well as projectiles at them, they left the stage within 10 to 15 minutes!

I remember a friend of mine and I won tickets to see Rammstein a little over ten years ago. I was really excited because they're one of my favorite bands and some of my friends that have seen them live said they're amazing. By the time we pulled up into the parking lot, we were told by one of the staff members there that the concert was canceled due to technical difficulties. I was so bummed. They never did reschedule for a later date and they never came back to the US.


Back on topic, there are two concerts that stick out in my mind. The first was a concert I attended when I was about ten years old. My class attended a concert that our local police department put on for the schools as a D.A.R.E event. I thought that there were going to be actual bands playing at the show. Little to my knowledge that the performers were the staff doing cover songs. This event was so cheesy, I wished that I were back in the classroom learning something.


The second was my first concert, Static-X. They were absolutely amazing! It was their opening act, Pitchshifter that takes the cake for craptacular. I just remember their entire set being nothing but just noise. Which really saddens me to because they had a bad ass hit on the radio...

Yes in 1994 with the Rabin line up.

I don't know if it was the outdoor venue or what, but it was probably my most unpleasant concert experience. They just sounded like doo-doo. When I saw them in 2004 with their classic line up, it was perfection.

Only a month ago I won some tickets through work to see Usher (only heard some of his songs) but hay free tickets, I can't complain!!!

So I took a friend to see him and he was just crap. He is in love with himself, he loved girls screaming at him and the songs that I do knows of his, he didn't he play them right. He went off and did his own variations on them.

Well I asked my friend how she felt about him! and she felt the same. So we walked out half way through the concert with the security guards stopping us, swearing that the concert is going to get better!

Anyway we went back to town, sang some Karaoke and went to a Pancake House for some pancakes!!! Turned out to be a pretty awesome night!!
