I have a few of those in the house, almost fell out of my chair when I saw "Assault on Precinct 13" listed, the original movie was among the most violent I had ever seen up to that time.

I read not too long ago Kraftwerk didn't really like Autobahn, but I have a copy and it's good for a dose of nostalgia once in a while.

Oh and forgot that the soundtrack to Forbidden Planet is Excellent, way ahead of it's time and I've never forgotten it.

I noticed that right off, but I know a lot more of the first 25 than I do the newer bands/albums. Never been a huge electronic music fan myself but I think at least one Vangelis album should have made it.

Either "Heaven and Hell" or my pick "Albedo .39", both first class synthesizer albums.

wtf defines "electronic album"? :wtf:

As for the list, the ONLY album on that list that I would purposely spin would be

10. Stevie Wonder - Music Of My Mind (1972)

And that album isn't anywhere near my favorite by Stevie.

LMAO I love when people throw an album like Burial on there to pretend they're hip when it's obvious they couldn't care less about modern music. S/T isn't even Burial's best album, I've never met anyone who thinks it is. Untrue is widely regarded as his masterpiece.

This list is missing M83 but I don't ever expect to be happy with someone elses list. Plus list with just names are boring. If no two list are going to be the same or definitive there may as well be a description listed next to each choice so we know what the creator was thinking. I'm surprised at how much electronic music I've gotten into and think is great but aside from Nine Inch Nails nothing here means anything to me at this point. I'm surprised Moby wasn't listed here. I don't know two many artist that have brought that sound to the masses and created as much of a mainstream buzz.

It's a mood thing for me Snoopy, I like Autobahn, Oxygene, a few Tangerine Dream albums, and the Vangelis records I mentioned are used extensively in many space shows...which I love as well.

I agree with Sooty about Moby, he deserves to be on this list and I'll add Aphex Twin their soundtrack to the remake of Tron is one reason I might actually get the movie...or the ST at least.

Well electronic music is very ambient which is all about mood. It's usually more about a persistent texture of sound that builds up to a wall of sound. I can see why one wouldn't like it. There aren't a lot of beats, shifts in sound, etc. but it's very soothing and relaxing in a lot of cases. In the same way people like classical pieces that's what Electronic music does now. It's one of the few genres where the audience allows the music to take it's time and subtly grow into something. :)
