Misunderstood lyrics

In Atom and Evil by Heaven and Hell, Ronnie Dio seems to sing the word 'spider' and sometimes 'slider', but copies of the lyrics I have seen say 'spider' every time. This is an exception:

Story: We were talking, and she started singing it, and I chuckled to myself, she asked why, and I corrected her lyrics. We both laughed for minutes on end.
