As odd as this might seem, Mike Oldfield, of Tubular Bells fame, recorded a fine record in 1983, or there abouts called, "Crises". It has a celtic sound and vocalist Maggie Riley is well worth the price of admission on a track titled, "Moonlight Shadow". First rate! Well worth tracking down.

I'm a big fan and I agree that Crisis is among his best.

And yeah, I've seen him too :heheh:

He has an extensive library of work to pick from. I have two of his albums, 5 Miles Out, and Music of the Spheres, but I never knew he did a folk album Fug.

"Crises" is one of Oldfield's best...take it from me, an old school Oldfield devotee from day one. But if your looking for celtic stylings from the man you will hit pay dirt with a more recent record he's done called "Voyager". Celtic instrumental music from start to finish. I've grown weary of that particular type of music over the decades, but even so I can listen to "Voyager" anytime and regard it as one of Oldfield's definitive albums.

There is a nice Celtic section in "Ommadawn"...if you haven't listened to that one you will not be disappointed. Probably my favorite from his entire prolific career.
