I have the first 4 lps.....didnt discover then until about 30 years ago as I started to look for more unusual BRit prog jazz folk etc....though I recall seeing their lps at college in the early 70s.

Ditto dr wu - I think when you saw Weather Report filed with them in stores... maybe folk got scared?
Very good musicianship.

I think their session keyboardist, Tommy Eyre, who they used on a couple of albums was fantastic. It's something about the atmosphere he created with his sounds...it's just otherworldly. Apparently, this guy also played on Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line" while also doing session work for Joe Cocker, BB King, Tracy Chapman, and WHAM.

Here's one of the band's later songs, with lyrics that only a middle-aged man can truly understand.

That explains things... thanks Aero, that textured keyboard work... I knew he was on a few Gillan albums (just looked on my sleevenotes,) he's on Naked Thunder.
