Re: Male or Female?

I can relate more to a male point of view. But I do enjoy the occasional Heart,Grace Slick,Joan Jett,Lita Ford etc....

Yes, how could I forget Joan Jett?! Love her and she can still rock!

Usually I go for male singers, I still have my exceptions. Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Courtney Love, Angela Gossow, la dee da dee the list goes on. Most of the music I listen to has a lot of testosterone pumped into it that only a male voice can provide. I enjoy my femininity in my music every once in a while too.

Love 'em both, but most of my favorite singers are male. As far as the Stevie Nicks thing goes, her voice is alright, but I always liked Christine McVie's a lot more.

Of the hundreds of bands/artists that I've listened to over the years, there have only been 3 female lead singers that REALLY got me... Pat Benetar, Ann Wilson and Stevie Nicks. Yes, there are a number of other good female leads, and with the surge in symphonic metal, there are a LOT of good female leads in that genre. But overall, I happen like more bands/artists that have a dude on vocals than a female. Not because i'm searching out male over female.

I love the human voice... period. Now I'm not saying I love just any voice but a good singer is a good singer, male or female! :grinthumb

I'm agreeing with you WAY too much, Tunez, it is downright scary :lmao:

In this instance I have to do so again... I don't even think of male/female when I am listening to good vocals - FINE vocals. Sure, it occurs to me, but....no, no preference. You said it so well - "the human voice".

Why LG!! I'm a bit surprised by this comment (not the subject matter, but the fact that you made it) - pleasantly surprised! :heheh: And I'm with you there, but not :oyea: I'll spend quality time after the concert with the gentlemen...after the concert I DO have a preference

I don't think I have a preference. I do like more male singers though, and its not just because there were abunch of hotties in the 80's..maybe

I like some female singers. But, generally women have very powerful, or at least pretty voices. They sound trained. I'm more of a fan of rough, gravelly voices.

It doesn't really matter if it's a male or female to me as long as there is passion and soul behind the voice. Although to be honest there are more male vocalists in my music library than there are female vocalists.
