Hey all,
I'm trying to hunt down a specific tune. It dates back to pre-1984 since that's the first time I ever heard it. The tune was probably actually from some point in the post-Vietnam-era 1970's.
I believe the group was named Maduro, or perhaps Madura/Madero. The title of the track is for sure "Living in America". It begins and stays on a slow tempo, with woodblock percussion sounds. The opening lyrics are---
"Living in America, everything is free . . . "
I heard it from vinyl, and the guy I listened to it with was active duty Navy, so it may have even been an import. I remember the rest of the album being pretty cool, but this particular song was excellent and obviously left a lasting impression with me.
I know this is kind of a reverse name the tune, but I'd consider the person who could hook me back up with a copy of this lost gem from my past a true hero.
Thanks!
