Regarding "You're Sixteen," Ringo was covering an oldie by Johnny Burnette from 1960. Four years previous, my mother got married at 17. Not because I was on the way, either. People just did those kinds of things then and thought nothing of it. It's only in recent times that people are going "ick," and of course they should.
