When Bonzo died tragically, it affected Plant more than the other members, he simply loved John like a big brother. Add to that the fact that he was more than a little afraid of Jimmy Page's dabbling in the occult and he was the main reason the band retired.

Seems to me Fox that they have left us with a timeless catalog of their music, and there is no need to tour or try to recapture the essence of what made them the biggest band of their time. If they decided a couple of years after Bonham's death to tour, then that would have changed everything.

British postage stamps are going to feature the Led Zeppelin IV album cover. The stamps are due to be released early next year (2010).

Led Zeppelin isn't the only stamp in the collection. There will be a set of 10 to feature:

Pink Floyd
The Rolling Stones
Coldplay
The Clash
David Bowie

and a couple others :)

If anyone knows how to order these, please let us know :D

The Led Zeppelin IV album has 4 symbols, each one chosen by the band members to represent their name and themselves:

This was Jimmy Page's chosen symbol. The symbol itself is a reference to magic, but it is also a sigil for the planet Saturn, the ruler of the sun sign for Capricorn, which is Page's sign.

This was Robert Plant's symbol. The symbol is the feather of Ma'at, the Egyptian goddess of justice and fairness, and is the emblem of a writer (ie song lyrics).

This was John Paul Jones symbol. A single circle with 3 intersecting pisces, which symbolizes a person with confidence and competence.

This was John Bonham's symbol. It represents the man-wife-child trilogy. A great representation of his family at the time the album came out; himself, Pat, and son Jason.

Right behind you!
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band, hands down! Everything from LZ1 to Physical Graffiti (their best album imo) is great. I wasn't too fond of Presence or In Through the Out Door though...
