Re: The OFFICIAL Led Zeppelin Thread

Great show by Robert Plant-he played some Zeppelin(Ramble On,Black Dog,Rock and Roll,Tangerine and Gallows Pole) some solo stuff(Tall Cool One,In The Mood),cover tunes and stuff off the new album.

Here are some clips someone posted on youtube from the Raleigh show I went to.

Heard the Led Zeppelin I and II albums, both are amazing albums, need to try III and IV now.

Fever I don't quite understand something after reading your concert summary...:dunno:

Robert Plant is playing old Zeppelin tunes on his solo tour, supporting his new album and yet he won't re-unite with Page and Jones to do one last Led Zeppelin tour. I don't get that at all, and I can see why the other two might be confused as well. He is on record as saying he has moved on, and left that part of his creative career behind and yet plays the songs on his own tour.

Must be a lot more to his refusal than just the bands legacy, that is my conclusion anyway.

Yeah you are probably right Lord.He does change the Zeppelin songs up just a little so maybe that's why he plays them.I don't know
Rock and Roll-not Black Dog as listed

THANK YOU! Never bite the hand that fed you and got you where you are. And I also find it hard to believe that they haven't at least played a reunion show for the American crowd, since America was their biggest source of concert and album revenue. They played a show in London but now here, even though it was a "benefit" show for Ahmet Ertegun.

I think the reason Robert Plant will not do a Led Zeppelin reunion tour or concert,is because he is vocally not up to it.

^^That might be part of it Cream'd, but I am sure they could pick enough Zeppelin classics that he could manage and perhaps a few female back-up singers to fill out the sound that no one would be disappointed. We all know a singers voice does suffer over the years or settle and prevent someone like Plant and even Halford from hitting and sustaining the high notes of their younger days.
