But he committed suicide in Rome. He survived, but he had already tried to kill himself. And if Courtney had tried to kill him there, then wouldn't he have notified the police or something?

k well first off... she was controlling and wouldnt kurt have been too scared to talk to the cops? lets say he does... they come and investigate and somehow... just somehow (she pays the cops off) they dont get that she did it, n this time she finishes him off? kurt was a smart man. but she was paranoid.

courtney said she found the body in rome a few hours before she called anyone... thinking that ok, this is long enough to ahve a "dead" body in my hotel room, lets get rid of it. luckily he survived this attack from her.

as for the evidence of it not being a suicide... theres the stuff u see in the greenhouse alone that closes the books, his hair was combed the tools were put neatly away, NO FINGERPRINTS ON THE SHOTGUN: if kurt wanted to kill himself, why would he care? that is one main clue. n then theres the stuff u have to dig for... the fact that kurts mastercard was taken and used the day his body was found to buy a bouquet of roses? theres one of the many interesting facts about the cobain case.

personally i think courtney love did it, and im sure there are thousands who agree with me, he wants a divorce, n with this courtney only gets at most, half of kurts estate, but with a death, she gets everything including, child rights, which kurt was going to fight to take away as well.

theres truly to much to get started on this so ill leave it at that

Fingerprinting is not a flawless science and it doesn't claim to be. I recall reading a quote from someone who was there that said the gun was in Kurt's hand, so even if they placed it there his fingerprints would still be on it. As for combing his hair and putting the tools away, it's silly to think that Kurt's murderer had any more reason to do those things than Kurt did. I don't see why a murderer would ever consider putting the needle away or combing his hair. For a suicidal person there are most likely many things going in in there head that don't make sense to us, and I don't find it strange that Kurt would have some reason to comb his hair if he really did that. What closes the book for me is the fact that none of us have any personal knowledge as to what really happened.

Though I do think it's darkly funny that Courtney Love rewrote Kurt Cobain's final anthem, You Know You're Right, which is a song that in most capacities appears to be a direct attack against her. She's got no right do to that!

I think Courtney contributed to his death, but not overtly. Kurt was clinically depressed and obsessive about death. Considering his first suicide attempt it wasn't surprising that he'd try again. It doesn't look good from Courtney's position because her husband just attempted suicide and rather than try to get the guy help she leaves him at their home with drugs available.

But given his mental state, if she truly wanted him dead she could have just drove him to do it himself. Which is probably part of what happened.

I certainly don't want to claim that I know what happened but I wouldn't be suprised if Kurt was going to divorce her or get away from her. Some song lyrics seem to point that way (though of course we don't know what they really mean). From that angle it makes sense that Courtney would want him dead since if Kurt divorced her then she would lose so much, since they had a prenub.

well, in Kurt and Courtney, the guy who said he was a contracted killer.
he was a beloved local B.S. Artist and I feel very confident saying he's was probably lying. you see, he made a living going on Jerry Springer and taking part in just about any argument you can think of.

he was a neat guy but not a credible 'witness'
sadly, he got hit by a train a while back but I doubt anyone but Nick Broomfield found El Duce a persuasive witness.

drugs and guns and depression.
not a winning combination.
I mean, I wasn't there so I don't know.
still, it seems more likely to me than other things.

Courtney is now writing (with a ghostwriter) a biography of herself and Kurt.

I haven't heard it but I'm interested in hearing reviews for it. Do you have the box set, NDF? I think the selections for Sliver are mainly good but some of the choices were really bad. I wanna hear the Spank Thru from Fecal Matter but really I want all of Fecal Matter as a whole.

I am not too familiar with their deep cuts so some of the songs were interesting. Yes, these tracks are largely in the raw. I like Blandest (studio demo), that could have been a hit track if they would have released it. Clean Up Before She Comes was also a good track. I still actually have to go through alot of it though. Mrs. Butterworth was a bit funny, but it was from all the comments he made in between singing.

A lot of people are dissapointed with the track selection for Sliver and rightfully so since it focuses on demos as opposed to real rarities. I think the box set is absolutely jaw-dropping and it shows that Nirvana could have easily put out another album of rarities that probably would have surpassed Incesticide. Blandest is great, it was looked over for Incesticide because they couldn't find the tape, I think. Clean Up Before She Comes is IMHO outstanding, it's a pity that Kurt decided to have that song slink to the wayside instead of taking it up, adding drums & etc. and using it on Bleach or Nevermind or anything.

There's a significant number of valid Nirvana songs that should have been on Sliver but were left off. If You Must is a rought Bleach-era song demo with some of Kurt's best screams, totally awesome track. Old Age is great but the solo acoustic version is better than the Nevermind outtake version (the solo acoustic version hasn't been officailly released yet, I found it on altavista). Sappy is a great song I think but I don't know if the 1990 demo is as good as the In Utero outtake version from the box. Also Verse Chorus Verse is a significantly cool track but the box set/sliver version is a bit on the mellow side and a better version of the song might exist somewhere. There's also Anorexorcist which is some kind of a sludge metal tune and I love it. Also there are the other In Utero outtakes & rarities like Gallons of Rubbing Alchohol Flow Through The Strip and The Other Improv which IMO are genius although some people don't think very highly of them.

Not that it matters in the least, but if I did Sliver I think I would do it like this - (I'm taking the liberty to use some different versions of songs...)

1. Sappy (In Utero outtake)
2. Anorexorcist
3. If You Must
4. Even In His Youth (studio version)
5. Ain't It A Shame
6. I Hate Myself And Want To Die (Beavis & Butthead sndtrk version)
7. Old Age (solo acoustic)
8. Smells Like Teen Spirit (boombox demo)
9. D-7
10. Verse Chorus Verse
11. Raunchola (without Moby ****, if such a version exists)
12. Mrs. Butterworth
13. Token Eastern Song
14. Help Me I'm Hungry
15. Moist Vagina
16. The Other Improv
17. Opinion
18. Blandest
19. Clean Up Before She Comes
20. Milk It (studio demo)
21. Do Re Mi
22. You Know You're Right (home demo)

Though that is missing some stuff... And if I get to go into the vaults and bring out three unreleased tracks then replace Help Me I'm Hungry, Do Re Mi, and Moist Vagina for the basement group Do Re Mi, Lullaby the unheard In Utero outtake, and one of the unheard songs off of Fecal Matter.

I only put 2 demos of well known songs on it. Teen Spirit because I think the rough sound goes well with the tune and the lyrics are cool ("We're so stupid, and from vegas") and Milk It because I think the insturmentation is a bit cooler than the In Utero version and even though it's not quite as well structured, I think the lyrics are better with twisted Sliver-esque lines such as "I drink more milk than he does, I'm a deal and I want my mum" with a vocal performance to match. Oops, oh yeah and there's the You Know You're Right demo. Well that one has a very cool tone & style and the lyrics are different.
