Alright, watched the whole show. Overall, it was pretty decent and it's always cool to see KISS play live.

A couple of things of note:

1) Some really stupid camera work in spots. Overall it was decent filming, but who in the HELL would pan away from Gene 2 seconds before he does his fire breathing thing?! Idiot! Also, they did a terrible job of showing Gene's blood spitting routine just before 100,000 years. I think part of the problem may have been that he was ~not~ in the right spot in front of his 'ominous' lighting that he usually stands in front of, but still, the camera work there was terrible. We only got a siloutte of him when he did that. Perhaps that was on purpose? *shrug*

2) Paul's voice is really rough in spots. Reminds me of some of the early Sonic Boom shows that were on youtube at the beginning of that tour. I can't remember if he had been sick, or his voice was just really rusty at the beginning of that tour but I know it got better after a handful of shows and when I saw them on that tour, he did great.

3) Black Diamond was awesome (as always). I love how Paul's intro is closer to the version from Alive! than it was for many years (the 80's and 90's) where he really strayed from that Alive! version intro. He's also taken to incorporating some other songs into that intro, including on this live set where he plays the beginning of Stairway to Heaven. Still my all-time favorite KISS track and they never disappoint on this one.

4) Lick It Up, during the encore, I like how they've gone beyond just playing this song as well and have been incorporating a bit of Won't Get Fooled Again into it. It just adds to the show and is a lot of fun. I haven't heard a negative word from anyone on the net regarding them doing this in the past few years. :D

Great points Lynch. I've also liked the way they have added "Won't Get Fooled Again" to Lick it Up. As far as Paul's voice I don't think it will ever be where it once was but for myself (when I seen them in 2009 & 2010) when I was at those Live shows I was so blown away by everything going on that I never noticed his voice sounding that bad...& then I'd get home & listen to the Instant live recordings! (I do love those recordings but you can tell his voice is off especially on the 2010 show)

I was psyched while watching this show & seeing the Jimmy Kimmel performance. To tell you the truth even though Kiss is my favorite band (Yes,I will give them the edge over Cooper!) I was thinking of missing them live this time around mainly because of my back & the the venue but after seeing this I keep thinking of the Whole Kiss Concert experience. Seeing Kiss is more than seeing my favorite band playing my favorite songs. It's also about the whole atmosphere of seeing the fans wearing make-up, the different Kiss T-shirts the fans are wearing, seeing what merchandise they will be selling (& wishing I had 1000 bucks to spend on it), & of course that whole show with all of the pyro & special effects going on while trying to figure out which member to focus on while they're playing my favorite songs. ...So maybe I willhave to make it once again

you know, I was going to buy the live recordings (mp3s) from the show that I saw them at in Sept 2010, but never did pull the trigger. That was a fantastic show that lasted 2 hrs and 20 minutes. I wonder if I can still get those.

I haven't decided if I'm going to see them on this tour or not either. While I would LOVE to, especially with Motley Crue, I also know it'll be a shorter set based on the announcement interviews, both bands doing about 90 minutes. Still, 3 hours of the Crue and KISS would be awesome.

I did go and look at tickets about 10 minutes after they went on sale and the best available was about 35 rows from the stage on the floor. It really really pisses me off how some of these bands (including my favorite KISS) is putting tickets on sale a couple of days or even weeks to members of fan clubs before they go on sale to the public. I just don't think it's fair, especially considering you still end up with your ticket scalpers (ahem, sorry... "brokers") buying up huge quantities of the best tickets during that time frame.

Well I got done watching the whole show. So this is like a pre tour show HUH? Not bad. I have to be honest, I've seen much better televised shows in my time. They were good though and it was a solid set list.

Sure Paul's voice is pretty rough here. I'm hopin' it's just getting the kinks out. But he has had some rough moments these days to say the least.

He sort of appeared under the weather and slower up there than usual. Anyone else notice this??

I did notice the flub coming out of the breakdown of Let Me Go Rock And Roll. Another flub coming out of Tommy's solo too. Whenever I've seen this guys make mistakes or flubs it tends to be on this tune. I think it has to do with this tune being one of their adlib jam tunes.

All in all though. I enjoyed it. Hope Paul's voice begins to improve. But if I was allowed to give him any advice? When he's talking between songs, don't try and sing and scream between songs. Stop doing the Whoooooahhhh....oooohhhh....Oohhhhhhh...oooooohhhh and all that.

A few times I caught myself wanting to yell at the screen. Paul knock it off...SAVE IT!!
