Re: The Sound Of The Kinks
I've been a fan of The Kinks for many years, and thoroughly enjoy quite a lot of their music. Although both of the Davies brothers are very talented, accomplished musicians and singers (more so with Ray doing most of the vocal duties) as well as songwriters, Dave is quite good as well, imo.
A couple of audio songs from one of his solo albums originally released in 1980.

Where Do You Come From?
Imaginations Real

The first time I saw The Kinks was on the 1980 tour, which was both very cool, memorable and great. More so as I had been a long time fan from the 1960's. I was very glad to have the opportunity to see this terrific band that had many hits, great songs and music, and also were exceptional in concert! 'Imaginations Real' was also included in their live set, which made me more interested in Dave Davies, his styles, sounds and abilities. Although there may be some people that might overlook or think Dave was underrated at that time, I not only didn't feel that way prior to seeing him in concert, but I was much more impressed with him as both a very talented, skillful, excellent guitarist, and also a terrific musician, especially upon seeing him and The Kinks in concert!
