Seen them a couple of times. Solo and with Mercyful Fate. Heard Melissa when it first came out and was hooked. Love King!
I hear yeah dude....^^ Would love a new album from KD! Growing up in Denmark, King Diamond was... well, the King! "Them" and "Abigail II" are excellent. I recommend that you keep collecting his solo releases and Mercyful Fate stuff, if you haven't got that already.
It is rumoured a new album is in the making actually.
Chipping away with buying his albums and my latest addition is Conspiracy which I am enjoying a lot. Some great melodies in songs like Sleepless Nights.

King Diamond, a heavy metal band/singer, formed in 1985 after the break up of Mercyful Fate, which was Kim Bendix Petersen's band. Kim Petersen is also known as King Diamond or King. King Diamond, the band, is originally from Denmark but now resides in Texas. Their music is mainly concept stories about topics of horror like witches, ghosts, haunted houses, graveyards, ghouls, entities, creatures, voodoo, and various other scary topics. All of their albums so far are concept albums, except two.
The first release of 1986, is not a concept album, and is their darkest album they have released. This album borders on the side of black metal. The vocals are clean, only some mild screaming, but the musical talent is incredible. Their work only gets better after the first release.

Does anyone know of a MERCYFUL FATE album " Curse of the Pharaohs " ? ? i have a copy and its a bit of an oddity. it has 11 tracks...sound quality not brilliant....no sign of any year it was released or record label...presume its a demo / or bootleg........what makes it so bizarre is on the vinyl middle section it says Satans Nightmare instead of Mercyful fate..
Another good band my sister got me into, love Mercyful Fate too.
