It's not the population at large MW, it's his fan base that drive's Beeb's so you are talking about millions of young teenage girls who have fixated on him for a few years now.

I reserve my comments for his boorish behavior during his day to day life I could care less about his music, in fact I can't name one song of his come to think of it.

This is a product of the VHS video camera revolution, now with cell phone cameras nobody has privacy any longer so everything they do in public and sometimes private (Vivica Fox anyone? ) is posted online within seconds of it taking place. We are becoming a race of voyeurs not something I'm proud of either.
