I'm sure this has likely been brought up before in one of the other 62 pages of this topic, but anyone else here a big fan of Jugulator? It's not their best by a long shit, but I think it's a real monster.

I like it. I don't love it but I do like it. I like Demolition as well but same with that one, I dont love it but I do like it.

In my opinion, Ripper did a pretty damn decent job filling in for Rob while he was out of the band. Obviously the songwriting was different without Halford having a hand in Jugulator and Demolition, but that doesn't make them bad.

Jugulator was good. Better than the horrible Demolition. Jugulator had a lot of memorable songs.

Yeah, Demolition seemed to me like it didn't know if it wanted to be a successor to Jugulator, or a throwback to their old material, so it became a mediocre cross of both.

I think Demolition had a few good ideas on it but the production sucked nuts and most of it was just really bland/mediocre material. (To me anyway) It is definitely the worst Judas Priest album. Some say Turbo or Ram It Down is but in hindsight those two albums had some better material on it. Ripper Owens did a good job on Jugulator though which is an album I make a strong case in favour of in terms of being decent. Its like the Bayley era of Iron Maiden where I liked the X Factor but thought Virtual XI was mediocre in most bits.

I don't care for either of those Blahley era albums. I can understand the comparison, but in terms of what I like and what I don't like, I'll take Ripper's JP albums 1000x over 1 spin of either X or XI. JM2CW

^^I agree with you, didn't care for either Blaze Maiden records, although X was the better of the 2.

I think Ripper did well both in his stint with Priest and Iced Earth. I love "The Glorious Burden" his vocals really worked well with Schaffer's material.

Jugulator isn't the first Priest album I reach for admittedly but I do listen to it once in a while.
