^^They have a complex relationship but at least it has lasted for decades.

Right now I think Martin is at his winter residence in B.C. where he spends a large part of the winter skiing and his daughter lives there as well. Could be he is tired from last years tour and just wants to do his own thing for a while.

^^Perhaps he is just tired of dong JT material now Sir Jeffrey, no matter what even if he's played his last tour with Ian they have lasted longer than any of their contemporaries except the Stones.

I have to be honest though, I've always been more interested in Martin as part of Tull than in his own solo career. That's no offense to him but just my passion for a great band talking.

i never liked aqualung. a few good songs but mostly kinda boring. i much prefer the debut album: fast paced, melodic jazz pop. stand up is also very good

Well I´ve admired Ian Anderson for over 30 years, but now I begin to wonder... what´s wrong with the man ?

Second to the right then straight on till morning
Looking at the apparent break up (temporary I hope) of Jethro Tull at least for 2012, I have to say that Ian Anderson could have called the TAAB touring band Jethro Tull if he had followed the lead from other bands who have changed personel over the years, but to his credit chose not to.

So we get The Ian Anderson Band and The Martin Barre Band touring in 2012 - we all win :)

That would be a shame if they have split permanently, but you are right Sir Jeffrey this way two legends are touring instead of one.:)

And Ian is popular/infamous...;)...enough in his own right to tour under his moniker...fans will still know what to expect at a concert.
