In the grand scheme of things in the world, physical looks mean very little.
That being said, the thread title is "hot or not", and I have to go with the shallow response of NOT, not even close to hot. She could sing her ass off in a way that I don't think anyone before or after has done. Very unique voice in my opinion, but physically, she's about as attractive to me as Wilford Brimley (maybe less)

Look at how cute she is as a young lady! You can really get the basic shape of her appearance there.
Those lovely cheekbones, and such a beautifully shaped face. Her nose is tiny (which I absolutely love). She just looks like your regular girl next door. She's just. So adorable. My inner ***** absolutely adores her to positively no end. :3

I have to say Janis looked like a normal woman of her time...the 60's. Nothing spectacular, just average. I don't find her physically beautiful, not like Nancy Sinatra of the 60's, Nancy was gorgeous!
