Rock song from the 80s, had it on a compilation, can’t remember the band! In the beginning was the song....

Only thing that springs to mind for me is the AC/DC track, "Let There Be Rock", lyrics start:

In the beginning
Way back in 1955
Man didn't know 'bout a rock n roll show
And all that jive.

Although that came out on the album, Let There Be Rock, in 1977, with a live version on If You Want Blood, 1978.

Or, Emerson, Lake and Palmer did a track called In The Beginning, I think.
