I just found this Humble Pie poster originally from 1970 supposedly. It's in great condition and is 26" x 20". Anyone know if it's original or not? Any help is much appreciated!

No idea if it is original but two interesting things.
1. An in store promo poster that was never displayed and in that shape from over 50 years is pretty rare.
2. Why would anybody do a reprint of a poster that has a fan base on fixed income!

The poster is also on ebay. The seller has several other A&M promo posters for sale along with other (mostly) legit looking memorabilia. Hard telling how peole come into this stuff.

The guy on the far left doesnt look like Frampton to me..... but he didnt leave till sept 71 so it might be but he could be Jerry Shirley (drummer) and the guy on far right could be Clem Clempson who had longer blond hair. and came in to play guitar but not till 71....so maybe the poster date is late 71

:dunno:

Clem replaced Peter Frampton on the Smokin' album in '72. I think Smokin' ('72) and Eat It ('73) are their best two albums by a pretty big margin. Don't get me wrong, I luvs me some Stone Cold Fever!

Thats true regarding the lps but Frampton left in Sept '71 so I'm betting Clempson was in before '72 if they toured after Peter left,

Regardless, the Humble Pie line-up on the poster was releasing records for A&M between March '72 and February '75. I suppose if one was inclined they could narrow down a timeline by looking at the other A&M promo posters of the same design by that ebay seller. Honestly, my '70's memory is sketchy but I did have my bedroom wall papered in music posters and many were record store promos. All the promos I remember were promoting the latest release and not just the band and the record company. I think it's a cool poster but not $80 cool! This is said by a guy that just spent $30 for a full size Ian Hunter promo from a 1979 Rolling Stone Magazine.
