OK thats what I want to stress on home recording,like we have a problem we don't throw money at it we work around it w/ resourceful ideas just because someone might have the gear you think you will sound like a million but I don't think so, people need to understand music and write music as well as how to use the gear or software as a tool.Like A MUSICAL instument you practice try different things experiment. Make home recording fun and maybe even a craft.

I've only recorded my self a couple times and I did it with a basic mic next to my amp. It actually wasn't horrible quality, but deffinitly not studio quality. I would have to invest a little but I'm gonna have to wait til I get a job.

Well things have finally happened with my so called studio set up. I got a Roland DJ 202 and a Akai Mini plus for my birthday.
This has been something I have tossed around quite a bit since I already have a ton of vinyl and a old school DJ set up.
The world now has a huge amount of talent using digital gear and it could blow your mind hearing some of the stuff created by the future DJ's out there.
Allot of new pop is now the work of one man digital bands..
This would explain why my song choices in the listening video thread have had some dub style music since that's where some of the new stuff is going.
So for me I've already attended a class on how to "create" my own music with the Roland. That thing looks like a toy but with Serato software the two can do some impressive things.
I still rock my guitars and old DJ gear, when I need to feel less challenged by trying to figure out all the buttons and stuff this controller does..
