Over the first two days, Beatles songs have been added to more than 673,000 playlists on Spotify alone, with 65 percent of listeners clocking in at under 34 years of age, Billboard reports.
A peek into the Top 10 streaming songs offers still more insight.
For instance, the Top 10 U.S. streams are evenly split between their pre- and post-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band era. “Blackbird” from 1968’s White Album arrives at No. 6, while the top four positions are occupied by the title track from 1970’s Let It Be, “Here Come the Sun” from 1969’s Abbey Road, the 1968 single “Hey Jude” and “Come Together,” also from Abbey Road. The rest are from 1965’s Rubber Soul and before.
The U.S. Top 10 includes four songs featuring lead vocals by John Lennon (“Help!,” “In My Life,” “Twist and Shout” and “Come Together”); three by Paul McCartney (“Blackbird, “Let It Be,” “Hey Jude”); two featuring both Lennon and McCartney (“She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand”), and one by George Harrison (“Here Comes the Sun”).
If we look at the numbers globally, “Come Together” remains the top-streamed song over the Beatles’ first 48 hours on Spotify, but “Let It Be” leaps ahead of “Hey Jude” to No. 2. “Love Me Do,” “Yesterday” and “All You Need Is Love” also make appearances.
