So I have to create a "mixtape" essay where I write about songs that have to do with the los angeles (such as if an artist recorded a song in LA that made a profound impact on the music scene) and it's history of racial relations but I don't know where to start. I want to create a theme with my mixtape essay of rock songs but I don't know what to pick. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Good luck I have no idea where I'd start either I know little about that whole cultural interaction except what I saw on the news.
But I think this Clash song off Sandinista is a good one and applies to LA and the police there who are famous for their....enthusiastic response to arresting people.

I don't know anything about LA in particular but there must be plenty of books about it.
Police Truck was an great fit for my list! Got a Sublime and Crue song on there too.
