I could just search what I need but there's just so many INCREDIBLE bands out there that I just can't find where to start! I'm almost feeling desperate.

I'll admit I've never been too big on the classics like Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin, etc etc. Not because I don't like them but because I've never sat down and listened to a whole album in its entirely. And well, I was never exposed to music and I only started to really listening to it about a year ago or so ago so it hasn't been that long and I've mostly only gotten myself exposed to indie rock , which is ironic, me being in a classic forum and all.

Anyways, the first thing I look for is whether or not the lyrics are meaningful, the more relatable the better. I look to feel the passion the band has and the emotion the singer is putting out, because to me music isn't just something to listen to and past the time, I want to feel a connection and be inspired!
And of course a band that has awesome bass wouldn't be too bad because even simple basslines such as the intro to Under Pressure by Queen & David Bowie make me go mad :heheh:.

Just throw me a few bands (Besides The Beatles) + your favorite album from that band or the album you think has the best lyrics and I promise to check it out :cheers2.

If you like an awesome bass:

Arctic Monkeys: Really great bass+drums+lyrics. Its real catchy songs, you should check out their first album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not".

Nirvana: Classic band, and the bass is awesome. They have all this mystical thing surrounding them, considering what happened to Kurt Cobain. You should check out the album "Nevermind".

Red Hot Chili Peppers: They have one of the best bass players in the history of rock music. Really funky music. I was first attracted to them with the "Californication" album, but you can't go wrong if you check out "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" first.

Cheers!

A mixed bag of albums for you...

Muse - Origin of Symmetry

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

and for insightful, moving lyrics check out Thin Lizzy, maybe the album Bad Reputation or Black Rose.
