I've been registered here for a little while, but never happened upon posting for some reason. Figured I'd introduce myself to start with. I consider myself somewhat of a music freak, although I am unabashed about my preferences. I have loved hundred of bands in different rock sub/genres, but I'd have to say the bulk of my 20s has been more focused on the area of alternative, punk and new wave of the 70s-80s: The Clash, DEVO, The Jam, Ramones, Jesus and Mary Chain, XTC, Dinosaur Jr--a lot of stuff like that. Also have to mention the pre-punk of Stooges, MC5, The Sonics (who I did think of with "strych9").. Aside from that I greatly enjoy The Kinks, The Who, The Animals and a few other Brit-Invasion acts, mostly early Pink Floyd (and some late stuff), some Sabbath, Hawkwind, Roxy Music and David Bowie.
I should stop there since I'm the kind of person who gets carried away talking about my music interests, lol. But one last thing I'll add is that ever since I was fortunate enough, a year ago, to have met a guy who is a rock musician of almost 40 years and has played everywhere and owned numerous thousands of records, I've have been getting slowly turned to many different types of classic rock era bands. Some of the bands I was mildly familiar with, but many others I hadn't heard of. I think myself fortunate as a music lover to get to befriend a real rock musician. Somehow it's never happened before (I was blown away to learn he lived in Seattle and knew a bunch of Grunge-era musicians).
PS: Yes it's 2 AM and I have bad insomnia.
