I like Elton about 1000x more than Neil Young, but in this album matchup, I have to take Harvest (yeah, it pains me to do so). That's one Elton album that never did anything for me.

Seriously??? Not even Burn Down The Mission?

Yeah,I know a lot of people absolutely love it. To me, it's a decent album, but that's about it. I wouldnt' personally put any song on there among his top 30, but that's just me. I don't mind being in the minority once in a while.

(bothers me worse to be giving Neil Young an honest vote) :heheh:

Tumbleweed Connection blows Neil out of the water.

Yep I agree.

I think "Tumbleweed Connection" is dreadfully underrated and that's probably because it didn't have the benefit of a hit single. That's probably why most people forget it even though I consider it in the top three album out of Elton's entire career. :grinthumb

Tumbleweed Connection is an album I offer (along with Honky Chateau and GYBR) to people who dismiss Elton as some old fogey who does nothing but sings songs for dead friends and cartoons. It was one of the latter Elton albums I checked out because I was unfamiliar with it, but songs like "Ballad Of A Well Known Gun", "Country Comfort", "Love Song", "Where To Now St. Peter" and "Burn Down The Mission" are now among Elton's hits to my ears at least
