I don't know about you, but I am completely over the trendy traditional Christmas songs. I am in search of some hard rock christmas songs, any suggestions? I just need a completely new xmas playlist around my house. Any help would be greatly appreciated. happy holidays!

^^I'm in the opposite camp Samanthalosness, I prefer the traditional Christmas songs with one or two exceptions, but I'm sure some of our members can help you out.

I am with you, LG, I like the traditional music the best. My second favorite would be a Trans Siberian Christmas

Well I'm going to have to disagree with LG and Magic here since I don't much care for traditional Christmas songs so when it comes to rock and roll Christmas songs the first to come to mind for me is my favorite Christmas song... :D

Cosmic, don't you like Trans Siberian Orchestra?

Can you believe it, even Marilyn Manson has Xmas music. This parody video is brilliant!!!! Kudos to the guy who made it :D

I spend a lot of time on this stuff, actually! Make a new Xmas rock comp each year. Here are some tracks you might like!

Those are some of the best ones, anyway. I believe Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jethro Tull have done full Xmas albums, among others. Also don't forget this one...!

Jethro Tull has an excellent Christmas album but it is the only one from any rock band that I listen to.

I used to turn the radio off during Christmas season years ago, just to avoid all the syrupy rock covers of classics that I grew up with, I just prefer the traditional music I associate with my family and good times as a kid over the deluge of newer stuff.:D

I can't imagine how you can still listen to that stuff after all these years, man. I got tired of 'em after the first year where I had to hear the same classics 40 hours a week where I work. I'll take Petty & Pearl Jam m'self. To each their own!

^^I feel exactly the same way when I hear them covered by rock and roll artists, I can't believe anyone would listen to them instead of the originals. It's a part of my heritage, I only listen to that music during Christmas and Boxing Day, then that is it.

Sometimes traditions are a good thing, I would suggest to modern rockers etc., write your Own Christmas songs and leave the classics to their betters.(Regarding Christmas songs only.;))

No offense AAG...:grinthumb
