George Harrison was born this day in 1943, in Liverpool, England. The multi-talented, quick-witted George Harrison was a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer and recording artist. He possessed diverse musical interests and experimented with different kinds of instrumentation. There is much written about George's life and his official thread in CRF's 70's Music is packed with facts about George, his life, and his music. The world was left a much sadder place upon George's death from cancer on Nov. 29th 2001.

I loved his work with the Beatles of course, but for some reason I just could not get into All Things Must Pass.

I gained a lot of respect for George after watching Scorcese's biography about him last year.

As far as his solo career goes...it was hit or miss for me but I do like All Things Must Pass,,,sorry MW but it's by far his best solo album for my money. I think he wrote most of those tracks when he was still in the Beatles, but John and Paul wouldn't consider many of his songs when recording an album.

George left the world at peace with everything, kind of fitting for a man with his beliefs.
