there are a few guitarists here and there that have the belief they are as good a singer as they are a guitarist, but they're not imo.

satriani on his lp flying in a blue dream started to sing on a number of tracks. some of the tracks are 'ok', but his voice isn't very good. he doesn't do it anymore, i think.

gary moore is one i've always thought shouldn't be a lead singer either.

I disagree! This is from his last filmed performance about 7 months before he passed away and he still sounded and played great!

He's listenable, but gets screechy when he hits those really high notes.

I was going to say Uli Roth as well, but its taken so ima go with Yoko Ono. She is a very talented guitarist, and although I respect her in that aspect I have yet to hear her actually please any ears with her voice.

I also disagree about Gary Moore, i thought Gary was very decent, "Empty Rooms" is a classic example of that!

John Norum is a fine, fine guitarist but sounds a bit iffy on some of his solo work:rolleyes:

Yeah, Uli is a good pick for this question. It seems he's a guy with a heavy German accent trying at times to sing like Hendrix (who isn't that great of a singer either). Knopfler seems one of those curious singers who for whatever reason tries to sound like Bob Dylan. Tom Petty used to do this a lot as did a few other singers but Petty has come into his own as a singer and he's not that bad.

My first thought was Billy Corgan. I like his vocal ideas a lot but he cracks and squeals at the most inoprotune times for my ear.

Wow, there are actually quite a few more I can think of off the top of my head but Uli and Corgan stand out heads and shoulders above anyone that comes to mind.
