I just recently discovered Gong through a bootleg from 1974 recorded in Oslo, Norway where Bill Bruford had just started to play drums with the band. It's crazy stuff, to be sure! :grinthumb

I love that underneath all the psychedelia, there's some really heavy, dark melodic stuff going on. Love it. :)

They are some whacky oufits for sure. He was always hangin' out on my Mom's front lawn when I was a kid.

:oyea:

Kidding of course...I get it. I think it's awesome!

Daevid may have some wacky outfits but at least he doesn't play in his pajamas like his guitarist in the Univ. of Errors band.

Very creative group, and some evocative sounds. Some of their more trippier stuff used to give me a headache. Though I haven't heard heaps, and there's lots to hear.

One of the five greatest bands that ever walked the planet.

I saw them live in 2010 and in 2009, replete with Steve Hillage, and they were superb. As good as they ever were back in the hippy-dippy days

Their latest studio LP 2032 is well worth having

It is amazing to think that Daevid is a week short of 73 and Gilli is almost 78...!!

Gawd bless 'em!

Robust stuff!
