Re: Gamma Ray

^^ Always good to see another Gamma Ray fan Mistress!! :grinthumb

Agreed...they just seem to get better and better with each album but that's my opinion.

It's because the calluses are thicker on their fingers with each passing album, and it doesn't hurt so much to play

:heheh:

Re: Gamma Ray

I am very partial to metal bands from Germany. I was first a huge fan of this bands frontman, Kai Hansen, when he was with Helloween. Both bands are top notch power metal bands. Gamma Ray has definitely blossomed quite a bit since the late 90's after they had some stability in the band members.

Great to have another fan of GR and Helloween in here MusicMistress. I think and have said more than once I feel Kai has really blossomed over the years...although I never considered the callous angle...:hm:...maybe you are right and that is part of the reason they are aging like fine wine.:grinthumb

Thanks for the compliment on my collage, I borrowed that idea from Cosmic, and GR's covers are excellent as a rule anyway. I would love to have the whole collection on vinyl albums, CD's are so lacking when it comes to showing off the cover art.

Re: Gamma Ray

I have to agree with you on the fantastic artwork on vinyl albums. Actually, this is how I got started in metal music. In the 70's, I began buying albums just for the artwork, since I am into gothic and midieval art. I have to hand it to metal bands, they have the most awesome slips.

The music contained inside the slips was a bonus pleasure :)

Re: Gamma Ray

^^Yeah it is not even close, the metal genre bands are light years ahead of most of the others for cover art.

When I first found GR, I was looking for Ronnie Montrose's old band "Gamma", but then my page filled up with GR...so I checked them out. I now have All of their studio full length albums, and everything else on MP3's, so I'm a huge fan.
