^^Glad you found the time to get 'round to Kai and the lads Rattlehead.:D

I like every album they've done, but I guess for someone interested in checking them out for the first time, Land of the Free seems to be considered their best album by the masses. It's a concept album and the one that really put Gamma Ray on the map to stay.

Love the cover art too.

Their album covers are awesome. They say not to judge books by their covers but Id be lying if I said the covers weren't a part of what enticed me into the music. :heheh:

Indeed. They're up there with Maiden, Iced Earth & Blind Guardian when it comes to fantastical artwork.

I am positive you aren't alone in being dazzled by good artwork, I know I was "chuffed" when I found GR a few years ago, downloaded a bunch of MP3's and then collected all their albums.

I think they have some of the best covers in music period, fortunately the quality inside the jewel case is top shelf too.:D

Land of the Free II belongs on your list...I like their first 3 albums as well then again I am a big fan of GR.

I've got a copy of their latest EP, "Master of Confusion" Kai describes it as the world's longest single :heheh:

It's got some new songs from the album that will be coming out later this year and some cover songs and leftovers from the last live album. The new CD is delayed because the drummer left the band due to personal reasons and they've replaced him.

Not much new material but it'll have to do until later this year when the new CD is ready.:hb:

I'm happy I finally found this thread! But too bad nobody posted here for so long...
Found this guys around 2007, first album I heard from them was Land Of The Free II. But I totally got into them when I first heard "The Silence" at a concert, it was totally magic! So, shortly after that, I started listening to all of their songs.
My favorite album is Somewhere Out In Space, with Power Plant and Land Of The Free II coming close to it. Also, the latest album, Empire Of The Undead, is a great one. I mostly like the albums since Land Of The Free, when Kai started doing the voice. He may not be the best vocal in the world, but he puts so much heart in singing, I just love it. Some of my favorite GR songs are The Silence, Watcher In The Sky, Empress, Send Me A Sign, Shine On, Winged Horse, Razorblade Sigh, Wings Of Destiny, Empire Of The Undead, Lost In The Future, The Heart Of The Unicorn, Blood Religion, Rain, Fight, Rise.
