Re: Gamma Ray

About time I've had mine for over a month now. It is a good CD, and yes I am completely biased and admit to being a Gamma Ray Fanatic.

Did you check out the Full glorious covers I posted in Sal's 2010 new album release thread? Even Sal like the cover, not sure if he'll follow us the rest of the way though.:heheh:

Re: Gamma Ray

MP has inspired me to do the next album even if we are the only two fans of the band in here.:D

So here is the 4th studio album, recorded in 1995, "Land of the Free". Some critics felt that the previous CD's were lacking in some distinct identity, you know what I mean, something that would separate GR from a host of other metal bands, I disagree myself I have always respected Kai Hansen and felt he already had established his credentials. This album is a masterpiece, it is just one of those great albums that has everything, good songs, good musicianship and rock solid production values.

I guess if you were to ask me what album I would recommend to someone who was interested in the band, this is the one I would offer. Kai Hansen had finally achieved the pinnacle of his songwriting/performing, and I am so glad I found this band by sheer coincidence about 3 years ago now.

Rebellion in Dreamland.

It might also be some silent followers in here :heheh:. I saw GR live in 2002 in Budapest.

Land of the Free is my favorite Gamma Ray album too. I'm not quite happy about the last album but I will give it some more tries :grinthumb. I only listened it once till now.

Wished they had toured here a few years ago but the closest they came was Vancouver a couple years ago.

The new album, I had to play it a few times myself, but I like it a lot. It is a grower for me anyway Bob.
